terms, plainly.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

The short version. said. is a voice journal, not therapy. What you say is yours: your recordings stay on your iPhone, and we never use your words to train AI. You pay through Apple, you can cancel any time in your iPhone settings, and your rights as a consumer always come first.

Who we are

said. is made in Dublin, Ireland, by Daria Karpova, trading as said. ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between you and us for the said. app and this website. Questions about anything here: hello@saidjournal.com.

By using said., you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

What said. is, and isn't

said. helps you talk for a couple of minutes a day and keep the lines worth remembering. It's a journal. It is not therapy, medical advice or a crisis service, and nothing in the app is a diagnosis or treatment.

If you're going through something heavy, please talk to someone you trust or a professional. In an emergency in Ireland, call 112 or 999, or your local emergency number wherever you are.

Who can use it

You need to be 18 or older and have an iPhone that runs the app. You're responsible for keeping your phone and your Apple ID secure, because your journal lives on them.

Your words are yours

The app's privacy policy explains the details and will be published before launch.

About the AI bits

said. uses AI to suggest titles, pull out a highlight line and find patterns in your entries. AI can get things wrong or miss the point. Treat its suggestions as suggestions: you can always edit or ignore them, and please don't rely on them for important decisions.

Subscriptions and payment

Refunds and your right to cancel

Because Apple takes the payment, refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you're in the EU or UK, you normally have 14 days to change your mind about a new subscription, and Apple's process covers this. If something goes wrong with said. itself, write to us and we'll help however we can.

If prices change

If we ever change the price of a subscription, we'll tell you in advance, and Apple will ask for your agreement where the law requires it. A change never applies to a period you've already paid for, and you can always cancel before it takes effect.

Using said. kindly

Please don't:

The said. name, logo, design and app belong to us. Your subscription gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use the app, not ownership of it.

Changes to said.

said. is new and will keep changing. We may add, change or remove features. If a change takes away something important you've paid for, we'll tell you first, and you can cancel.

If things go wrong

Ending things

You can stop using said. at any time: cancel your subscription and delete the app. Deleting the app deletes your journal from your phone, so export anything you want to keep first.

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. If we ever close said. for good, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your entries.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for said. or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as a third party. Apple's own Media Services Terms also apply to your App Store purchase.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as said. grows. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you live in another EU country or the UK, you keep all the protections of your home country's consumer law, and you can bring a claim in your local courts. If you have a problem, please write to us first at hello@saidjournal.com. We'd much rather fix it together.
